Caddie Program

One benefit of Old Marsh membership is the club’s outstanding caddie program. The club urges all members and guests to support the caddie program, a valued golf tradition. A round of golf spent walking is truly the best way to play and appreciate the beauty that surrounds our course. The following rules regarding the use of caddies apply:

  • From November 1 through April 15, groups of three or four players are required to have at least one caddie in their group before starting their round on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday until 1 p.m. and Monday and Wednesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

  • Specific caddies may not be reserved and are assigned by the caddie master or outside golf supervisor. We avoid habitually assigning the same caddie to the same member to provide other members the opportunity to enjoy different caddies. Caddies may be requested for tournaments, other than the Caddie-Member Tournament. Final tournament assignments will be at the caddie master’s discretion.

  • Caddies are independent contractors, not employees of the club. Payment for service is made directly to the caddie and may not be charged to your club account.

  • Please relay your comments about a caddie’s performance to the caddie master. We welcome your input, which helps us improve your golf experience.

Caddie Fees

The following suggests a range of fees to be paid to caddies. A caddie’s performance should be your guide in deciding the amount to pay for his services. We expect each caddie to earn $100 plus tip per round for groups of 2 or more.

  • Two players walking: $50 plus tip per bag
  • One player walking: $75 plus tip per bag
  • Combination walkers and riders: $50 plus tip per walker, $15 plus tip per rider
  • Forecaddie: $25 plus tip per rider – foursome, $34 plus tip per rider – threesome
